What is Tae Kwon Do? Taekwondo is regarded as the world's most popular martial art and is the national sport of South Korea. In Korean, 'tae' means 'foot', 'kwon' means 'fist', and 'do' means 'way' - it is loosely translated as 'the way of fist and foot'. Taekwondo has evolved into a system that combines combat techniques, self defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy. Tae kwon do is also incorporated into the training of the South Korean military. Some commands regularly used Charyeot - attention |
